The album was recorded at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro and produced by Peninha Schmidt. At the time, the band consisted of Rui Motta (drums, percussion, timpani, and vocals), Paul de Castro (bass, violin, and vocals), Luciano Alves (Hammond, Minimoog, keyboards, and vocals), and Sergio Dias (vocals, guitar, sitar), the only member from the original lineup and responsible for the album's progressive sound. The 12 tracks recorded from the performance were all new, including "Rock'N Roll City," "Sagitarius," "Benvindo/Mistérios," and "Trem/Dança dos Ventos."
