Blogs, music mags and DJ™s have been getting mad about the digitalfunk of Luis Clara Gomes better known as Moullinex. And all this with only one official release! (Breakchops EP 2009). Luis born in Portugal, but living in Munich since a couple of years, is part of the new Munich Disco scene around Gomma. For some time now he has this big buzz. It is really quite incredible that this has happened only because of this one EP. Okay: of course the many remixes that he did afterwards helped to increase the fame. Especially the remix for Two Door Cinema Club (Kitsune) has been a real club hit and his Sebastien Tellier remix was the one that had been most featured on playlists (along with ATrak™s remix). Yes: the remix for Cut Copy on Modular was a bomb, too and his Telonius remix is currently playlisted all around. Guess that™s the reason why so many labels have been chasing Moullinex to sign on them. Some have been really pushing him hard to join their roster, but Luis preferred to stay with his Munich buddies at Gomma. And so now it is sure: this new Moullinex EP is only the beginning of a whole series for Gomma records. And it hits hard: Still you have the pushy electronic funk he is known for, but now he goes a step further: using a lot of ethno influences. Indian sounds, African percussions. But not less effective than before. You can be sure: the dancefloor will still scream when the breakdown comes. Guaranteed without any noise sounds, overcompressed beats or other ugly music ingredients of last years. This here is pure sex. Believe us. Your girlfriends will confirm!
