The new album by Dexys (formerly known as Dexys Midnight Runners) around band leader Kevin Rowland! Following the three studio albums from the 80ies 'Searching For The Young Soul Rebels' (1980), 'Too-Rye-Ay' (1982), and 'Don't Stand Me Down' (1985) it took another 27 years to get the fourth longplayer finalised. Kevin Rowland explained the 27-year gap between albums "I wanted to have material that I felt confident enough about ... I've got high standards, and that's a blessing and a curse. The perfectionism hasn't gone, although these days I won't storm out of a room swearing and shouting at people." Tracklisting 1. Now 2. Lost 3. Me 4. She Got A Wiggle 5. You 6. I'm Thinking Of You 7. I'm Always Going To Love You 8. Incapable Of Love 9. Nowhere Is Home 10. Free 11. It's OK John Joe / Reprise 'One Day I'm Going To Soar has eleven new songs written by Kevin Rowland and various co-written ones including four with Jim Paterson and one with Glen Matlock. The longplayer was realised with the original and former Dexys Midnight Runners members Pete Williams (bass), Jim Paterson (trombone), Mick Talbot (piano, keyboards), who later joined Style Council, Galliano etc. Furthermore various studio session & live performing cracks like the guitar players Neil Hubbard (i.e. Bryan Ferry), Tim Cansfield (i.e. Seal), drummers Ralph Salmins (i.e. Björk), Geoff Dunn (former member of Manfred Mann's Earth Band), percussionist Jody Linscott (Pet Shop Boys, Santana, Waterboys), violin player Alice Pratley (Gorillaz/various Damon Albarn projects), cello player Ben Trigg (i.e. Unkle, Artic Monkeys, Jonathan Jeremiah), viola player Lucy Morgan ('Indian Summer' by Manic Street Preachers), and others including various trumpet players on four tracks. Within a few tracks Kevin Rowland gets additional vocal support by Kim Chandler (from The London Choir fame for Björk), Madeleine Hyland, Vic Bynoe, Suzie Furlonger - the mix and the production happened in cooperation of legendary producer Pete Schwier, Mick Talbot, and Kevin Rowland.
