Already on the first album in 2001, they shook the Norwegian music scene, won 3 prices for the release including a NOR Grammy, critical acclaim from nationwide press and went on to become the highest-selling rock debut ever issued in the Norwegian language. Since then, they have been #1 on the NOR album charts with each studio album, sold out shows on most of their tours, won 3 additional Norwegian Grammys (for music videos, rock, artist of the year), as well as commercial success in Europe with many tours and festival appearance, like playing the mainstage at Roskilde three times. Ompa til du d¢r Kaizers Orchestra's debut album, šOmpa til du d¢r›, was released 20 years ago. A remastered version of the album will be released on February 24th. šOmpa til du d¢r› has sold around 120,000 CD copies and recently passed 25 million streams. The album still has a loyal following and is considered a classic in Norwegian rock. It has now been remastered by J¢rgen Træen, who was once the producer of the album. It was simply a great kick to hear the album with improved mastering a la |No 2021," says Janove Ottesen. There is a real difference. I find that the original release is so compressed |No that the music almost implodes in, for example, the transition to choruses. With the new mastering, the music rather explodes, as was always our intention. It is much more open, has more punch, sounds louder and has greater dynamics. The record suddenly reminds a lot more of the live energy and thrust we were known for at concerts. I can only recommend all Kaizer fans to check this remaster out," concludes Ottesen.
