Ulterior Motive - Sideways INFO The world™s ONLY festival dedicated exclusively to drum & bass to release heavyweight double CD, 40 track debut album For many electronic music fans there is no better music to be appreciated at an outdoor event than drum & bass; more space to leap around wildly, fresh air to cool down, turbo-charged crowd-rousing energy. As the genre reaches dizzy new heights and surpasses radio play and chart exposure every year, we™re seeing more and more high profile drum & bass representation at all outdoor events in every corner of the bass-loving globe. But there™s one brand that is truly king when it comes to drum & bass and festivals: Czech-based, world renowned Let It Roll. Dedicated 100 per cent to drum & bass, it™s the world™s only even that exclusively reps the genre. And it does so for three days straight across multiple stages. Since launching as a series of club nights held across the Czech Republic in 2003 (and supersizing to full-on festival status in 2008), Let It Roll has achieved mecca status for the global junglist community with over 15,000 fans stampeding its old cold war military base venue in Benesov every summer„ And thousands more warming their cockles at their Let It Roll Winter events. Festival is also this year moving to a bigger location of ex-military airfield in Milovice, very near the capital city of Prague. Driven by seriously high production standards (in the past their mainstage has been built to look like a robot) and curating line-ups that leaves no sub-genre stone unturned and includes every artist from that chart-busting scene superheroes to the darkest, most inherently underground acts known to man; Let It Roll has a worldwide reputation that unites all fans and the most exciting exponents of the scene. To put it simply; Let It Roll didn™t win Best Festival at the Drum&BassArena Awards 2014 for nothing. With more international shows and tours popping up every year, Let It Roll are continuously levelling up and developing. This monolithic debut double CD album is a fine example. The first mix dives deep into the harder, gritty tech and neuro sounds with sounds from the likes of Noisia, Phace & Misanthrop, Ed Rush & Optical, Neonlight and Icicle while the second one dives deeper into the more minimal, liquid and soulful corners of drum & bass with cuts courtesy of Technimatic, High Contrast, Ivy Lab, Calibre, June Miller and Chords. Packed with the most respected names in the scene, pummelled with 12 exclusives, peppered with scene classics: ˜Let It Roll Vol.1™ is the ultimate document that showcases both drum & bass™s rich, widescreen breadth and talent and the brand™s unfettered passion and understanding of the genre, both locally and internationally. The 12 exclusive tracks alone offer a sharp snapshot of the album™s vision and vitality: from local Eastern European talents who™ve been with Let It Roll every step of the journey (Hybris, AZE, A-Cray, B-Complex, QO & Computerartist, Rido) to super-respected international titans (The Upbeats, Enei, A.M.C, Mefjus), between these names alone you get an idea of the scope and size of this collection. The best way to get an idea of the scope and size, though, is by pressing play. Better still, join them this summer: Taking place between July 30 August 1, 2015 guests include Noisia, Wilkinson, High Contrast, Spor, Black Sun Empire, Goldie, DJ Hype, Friction, Dillinja, Phace, Misanthrop, Spectrasoul and many many more.
