INFO
Jimmy Edgar's Ultrama jic is very excited to announce the release of Kris Wadsworth's 'Infiltrator' LP . Besides Kris being a celebrated DJ and producer, he is also Jimmy's close frie nd. This connection gives the labels step into maturity a symbolic and authentic feel. They grew up in Metro Detroit and have known each other since they were 1 1. A few years later, in what Kris recollects as "some shitty summer school", th ey forged a bizarre friendship that shared a fascination in dance music. Now bas ed in Berlin, Kris recounts Jimmy doing the show-and-tell where he told their cl assmates about his passion for making techno. The two childhood friends have kep t in touch ever since and Jimmy always supported Kris in his growth as an artist . It seems destiny that they crossed paths many years later in their adult lives .

"Infiltrator" follows an impressive string of releases on Kris' own two imprints - Uranus and Breed. The album mirrors Kris and his year of tough s tudio time with sonic journeys into hardware house and techno, the true symbols of Motor City. The defining sound of the album is certainly his Oberheim SEM Pro , a white metal synthesizer hand-signed by its creator Tom Oberheim. Kris refers to it as "White Devil" and could not imagine delivering "Infiltrator" without i t. The artist also used his beloved Roland drum machines – the iconic 606, 808 and 909. An electrified vocoder on the title track portals you instantaneou sly into simulated machine music. Sub-heavy ticking rollers like "Diesel" disclo se the raw and physical character of Wadsworth's new album. Kris further refined this already rich sound palette with nasty acid basslines implanted into almost every track.

"Infiltrator" documents Kris Wadsworth's personal path of self-discovery. The eight tracks tell a story of his days as an expat in Berl in and the bizzare impression of hearing an American car engine which always mak es him homesick. The sort of feels only a Detroit native can truly understand. " Infiltrator" also distills Kris's reflections on a wide array of heavy-weight to pics like space, hope, death - all themes which accelerate his imagination.
