Pol_On are the latest signing to Freerange, pricking up our collective ear with what can best be described as some seriously raw, chunky, deep underground house biz. Having already strut their wares on fine labels such as Get Physical, Mothership, Channels and Connaisseur, this Polish duo are now set to unleash the beast onto the dancefloor with their most accomplished tracks yet. In addition to the two originals we also have man of the moment Salvatore Freda on board for remix duties. I Need kicks things off with an intense and building intro complete with tinnitus inducing white noise until the bass drops in large fashion which will result in much bum shaking on the dancefloor. Deep, twisted pads join later on making this track more than just another loopy, housey DJ tool that have become ten-a-penny these days. Next we have 2 Be, treading a slightly darker path but keeping the house beats rolling once again. Bending pads, glitchy piano stabs and cut up vocals all come together for a beautifully crafted track that treads an original path without loosing sight of dancefloor impact. Finally we have Salvatore Fredaâ„¢s mix of 2 Be on which he jacks it all up in his own unique style that weâ„¢re starting to associate with his home town of Lausanne. Salvatore has been a man in demand quite recently after rising to fame with his tracks for Trapez, Liebe Detail, Cadenza, Area Remote and here on Freerange with production partner Volta. For this little beauty, Salvatore goes for a percussion-fueled peak time house vibe with a slight techy edge, complete with a sprinkling of summer sunshine courtesy of some looped up acoustic guitar. Sounds confusing, but it works!
