I'D RATHER STAY AT HOME, FILM MUSIC OF 3 FILMS BY RINUS VAN DE VELDE

Renowned composer and multi-instrumentalist Joachim Badenhorst is set to release his highly anticipated new album, I'd Rather Stay at Home, Film Music for 3 Films by Rinus Van de Velde, on November 25th 2024. This unique project features original scores composed for three films by the acclaimed Belgian artist Rinus Van de Velde: The Villagers (2019), La Ruta Natural (2022), and Life in a Day (2023).

Crafted predominantly with layered arrangements of clarinets, saxophones, voice, and electronics, Badenhorst’s compositions evoke a rich, immersive soundscape that perfectly complements Van de Velde’s cinematic visions. The music weaves through atmospheric textures and intimate melodic lines, offering a distinct auditory interpretation of the visual narratives.

The album will be released exclusively on vinyl by Klein Records, alongside a beautifully curated art book published by Hannibal Books.
