'Gobbldigook' is the spectacular opener of Sigur Ros' recent album "Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust", undeniably one of the most hymnic songs they've written thus far. Fellow Islanders Stephen Stephenson aka President Bongo (of Gus Gus fame) and Jack Schidt couldn't resist but to transform the complex, polyrhythmic original into an exceptionally ethereal club track. When the angelic voice of Jon Birgisson unfolds on a club soundsystem it really feels like you™re in heaven. The ultraslim percussion groove takes over the tribalistic atmosphere of the original but catapults it some hundered light years forward into the future. Thomas Fehlmann™s remix on the flipside is nothing short but sensational. We have no clue how he managed to turn this song into a schaffel but we salute him and take this as another unmistakable sign that the schaffelfieber is rising again in Cologne, Berlin, Reykjavik and elsewhere...
