It was in 1988, with the discovery of New Order, that the desire to compose his own songs arose. His techno-pop compositions drift gently towards a house and techno sound, with the arrival of the baggy movement from Manchester and the acid-house wave. In 1992, a pivotal year if ever there was one, pop had been ousted in favour of technology. Between ˜92 and ˜95, Laurent worked in various horizons, but always with one goal: to make people dance and move. Laurent Collat joined F Communications in 1996. On his first two EPs released in ˜96 and ˜97, "From Nowhere With Love" and Snapshots, Elegia developed a melodic and melancholic house.
