Matt Edwards has collected a shockingly huge number of monikers since he began producing  over the last 8 years, he™s acquired five in total: Quiet Village, Sea Devils, Matthew E, Rekid and of course his most famed name, Radio Slave. With a background education in playing down-tempo tracks and Balearic beats, Matt Edwards™ first forays into DJing were at the future-forward šOpen All Hours› night at Ministry of Sound in 1992. Perhaps his downtempo upbringing gives way for explanation behind his Quiet Village project with partner, and fellow vinyl-obsessive, Joel Martin. The poppy feel of Quiet Village lends to the pop dance grooves he creates as Sea Devils, his work with celebrated musician Caged Baby. As Matthew E, he creates jackin™ house beats that groove and pulse under the most unexpected colour spectrum, which is the flipside to the soulful and more articulate pull of Rekid, whose gold run of 12›™s set the underground radar alight. His ˜Made In Menorca™ album (on Soul Jazz Records) as Rekid was a righteous success by critics and fans alike, breeding house beats that truly set the precedence. As Radio Slave, a name which originally started out as a temporary venture (tongue firmly in cheek) as he attacked remixes for more mainstream-focused and radio-friendly tracks, he started off best known for his techy remixes of some of the biggest names in pop (including Talking Heads, Danny Tenaglia, Kylie Minogue, Gwen Stefani and Sir Elton John, to name but a few). Radio Slave™s teched-out sound has since managed to find its way into an incomparable globe-spanning career, creating singles, remixes and compilations that are as exploratory as they are accessible. His 'No Sleep' EP series - launched in 2006, and now on its 6th edition - has become one of the most sought-after and eagerly anticipated set of 12"s in the 4/4 world. Rekids, his hugely respected imprint shared with businessman James Masters, kicked off in 2006 with Radio Slave™s anthemic ˜My Bleep™ EP. The label has since grown from strength to strength, incorporating artists as far reaching as Luke Soloman, Toby Tobias, Spencer Parker and Mr G, among others.
