Robert Hood started working as a MC with Mike Banks and Jeff Mills in Detroit in '91, before the legendary Underground Resistance crew was even an idea. As it began forming, Robert Hood found his place as the "Minister of Information," and became an essential part of the UR movement. After the X102 project, Robert Hood and Jeff Mills moved to New York in '92 to branch off to do work on the Axis label - NYC became the home of their brilliant H&M productions. Robert™s own ground-shattering ˜Minimal Nation™ LP (on Axis) hit the electronic music world with unprecedented explosion in 1994 it is credited today as a turning point for techno. In addition to his H&M alias, Robert Hood has also performed and produced under a wide variety of monikers, each set to a different style of techno: Monobox, The Vision, Inner Sanctum, Floorplan, Mathematic Assassins, Missing Channel (with Claude Young) and X103. Hood owns and operates the M-Plant imprint (set up in 1994), through which he's released the bulk of his solo material.
