In 2003, under the name Quiet Storm, Caspa made a tune called ˜Bass Bins™ which was picked up and played by BBC 1xtra™s J Da Flex on his radio show, the next day he got a call from DJ Lombardo, resident of the influential dubstep night FWD, he wanted to sign it to his label but unfortunately it never came out. Down but not beaten, Caspa launched his own label Storming Productions in 2004 and started a weekly radio show on the prolific Rinse FM. Within a year it had established itself as one of the dominating labels of the time and it wasn™t long after that he launched a sister label, Dub Police, which focussed far more on purist dubstep and gave birth to his Caspa alias. With a string of successful releases from artists such as L-Wiz, N-Type, Rusko, The Others and of course his own productions, once again a label setup by Caspa was dominating the scene. After a number of highly successful releases and remixes, in October 2007, Caspa along with label artist Rusko, were approached by fabric to mix the 37th instalment of the legendary FabricLive series, which was the first commercially available dubstep compilation. For many people it was the first time they were exposed to the music and it majorly helped push the genre into the limelight. Since 2008 Caspa has been constantly touring the world as a DJ, which sets him apart from the majority of his dubstep peers, travelling as far and wide as Israel, New Zealand and Australia, America and Canada and all across the UK and Europe. He played every major festival last year and 2009 is already completely booked with even bigger and better gigs, one of the most exciting factors is how loved he is in America, a nut that many European DJ™s before him have failed to crack. His album ˜Everybody™s Talking, Nobody™s Listening™ is released in April through Subsoldiers (his latest imprint that he setup as a sister label to Dub Police) and fabric, who have been championing him ever since his fABRIClIVE mix, including giving him a Bi-Monthly Dub Police residency. It™s an LP that dubstep fans have being talking about for a long time, mostly because it features a number of huge tracks that Caspa™s been playing out in his sets for sometime, but has strategically never released. šThere™s a lot of people that would tear their right arm off for some of these tracks, people are ripping them off Zane Lowe™s show and playing them out, it™s nuts.› Caspa explains proudly.
