A1 DERNIER VOLTA A2 CHANTA UNO B1 COMO COMERME B2 EL SUR AL SUR Chantal is a new artist on Comeme. She's a glamorous young woman who's based in Paris, but originally comes from Colombia, via Buenos Aires where she spent most of her formative years. She's soon to return to Colombia to run a nighclub there. The two tracks here 'Chanta Uno', and 'Dernier Volta', are tinged with a hazy, nocturnal sadness, a touch of sexy, decadent disco glamour and a retro palette of sounds that reminds the listener of the synthesised soundtracks to John Carpenters horror films. Diegors & The Don are Diego Morales and Matías Aguayo. Diego Morales is a DJ, musician and dancer from Santiago de Chile who has played in Santiagoan bands and has independently released his own productions. His DJ sets are full of stoned, jacking house music, tinged with the rhythms of Latin America and the dub of its Caribbean neighbours. The two tracks here, "Como comerme" and El Sur al Sur are testimonies to this fact. Built simply but well, in the comeme style for maximum dancefloor power, "Como Comerme" mixes dubby jackin' claps, latin rhythm and a grinding disco sequencer into something weirder and sexier than the sum of its parts. "El Sur als sur", the second track by the pair, mixes a strange synth sax, with pumping bass and a tough broken latin beat that recalls uk funky house. However the overall strangeness plus the syncopated melodies are distinctly Latin and couldn't have come from any other label.
