For its second release, the Charley Rose Trio continues to tell stories. This time it's in the form of a Pulp: a short story, each scene of which is a track from the album. The music recounts passages from an alter ego's adventurous day in a dystopian parallel reality. It's a tribute to Bukowski and his Pulp. Here, the fantasised, sometimes oppressive reality reveals a protagonist inhabited by a carefree spirit and a vital force superior to the mockery of the oppressive system with which he has to contend. It's also a nod to Dadaism, the counter-culture movement that set itself free from institutions of any kind, above all the movement of those who do "as they please". This album will take you wherever it wants to go, in the hope that you'll say it's nonsense. This nonsense is committed jazz, a disjointed tango, a deranged reggaeton, an impressionist waltz, drunken pop... It's a tiny part of the great anything-goes that the painter Jean Dubuffet claimed as his legitimacy, this marginal culture, teeming and without reference points, which is basically the true matrix of Culture.
