673794246017 Territories WW Style HOUSE/NEW-DISCO Nils Penner delivers some vibrant, disco-ish deep house tracks. Space Ranger's remix is a sublte jackin' floorfiller and Paskal & Urban Absolutes prove again their fine production skills with their groovin' deep rework. As Nils Penner has never really learned an instrument but still feels the urge to express himself musically the plan becomes quite clear in 2006. The damn computer it is and therefore genres that are, at least nowadays, related to the maschine. Nils starts working with Reason but due to a lack of consequence and skills he only ends up with "tons" of loops. Until in 2007 he meets John Muder and Chi-Thien Nguyen while he works as Graphic Designer for their first imprint Criminal Records (now running Suol). The guys become and stay close friends until today. Showing John some of his loops becomes a fruitful combination and the project Penner+Muder is born. They produce their first demo and Sasse picks 3 tracks immediately for his label Moodmusic. The rest is history. Full length album on Moodmusic, first live gig ever at Panoramabar, gigs all over Europe and some critically acclaimed releases and remixes ... In 2010 Nils starts wandering on solo ways. He founds his own label Wazi Wazi together with Sasse and (having learned so much stuff from Thien and John) starts to produce his first solo releases. Until today there a lot more Nils Penner Remixes for people like Luomo, Chasing Kurt, Paskal & Urban Absolutes and singles or exclusive compilation tracks for labels like Freerange and Suol. Up to date is Nils first release on Exploited called "The Thing", gaining massive support all over the place. Nils played his first solo LIVE set at Watergate / Berlin in May 2014. If you think of Space Ranger, you think of floor filling disco beats, deep drifting house and warm melodies. Space Ranger lifted off in 2010 with their debut single Star Wash EP featuring the slow-house bomb "Herbal Cake" which immediately reached pole position in the Juno sales charts and stayed there for several weeks. The Album "What about the magnetic fields" followed up in 2011. Since then almost every of meanwhile nine single releases hit the top 5 of the Juno sales charts. Tracks from Space Ranger have been supported by everyone from DJ T. to Aeroplane, Roberto Rodriguez, Kaspar Björke, Osunlade, Mylo, The Revenge, Laurent Garnier, Vampire Weekend, Pete Herbert, The Magican, PBR Streetgang, Peter Visti, James Curd, Hot Toddy, Jimpster, Marcus Worgull, Ilja Santana, Simbad and Jaques Renault, just to name a few. Combining sophisticated production skills, and a long-term experience of what works on dance floors around the world they know how to move the crowd. Paskal & Urban Absolutes sound like the perfect invented band name. But Alexander Kastner released under the moniker Paskal, as well as Adrian Hoffmann as Urban Absolutes, music long before the two got together in late summer 2009 to conquer new frontiers. And as it is when two like-minded creative spirits join forces the sum is always much bigger than its mere addition. That's what also Sonar Kollektiv's A&R manager and member of Jazzanova, Alex Barck soon found out and it didn't take a lot of persuasiveness to sign the duo to his label in 2012. Actually for Alex and Adrian this is exactly the environment where they feel at ease and want to get a move on. The love for electronic dance music between the poles of pop, downtempo and house is eventually what made Sonar Kollektiv one of the most prestigious label in the world over the last 16 years. A love shared by Paskal & Urban Absolutes unconditionally head over ears. You can hear that on all of their numerous releases and remixes (f.e. also for Quintessentials, Farside Records, Peppermint Jam and Shaboom), as well as especially on their debut album for Sonar Kollektiv.
