Tracklisting: A) CLUBSCENE POPSCENE B) CLUBSCENE POPSCENE (A JUST US DISKOPOP VERSION) Info: HIEM (featuring Bozzwell, from Suicide fame) became world famous thanks to both their brilliant releases on Crosstown Rebels (remember the amazing Mathew Jonson and Konrad Black mixes!!). Now it's time for their debut on Eskimo, with the beautiful 'Clubscene Popscene' anthem. Even better - if possible - is the Justus Köhncke remix on the flipside. He seemed the perfect man on the spot taken into account his wonderful back-catalogue on Kompakt to date; 'Jet', '2 After 909', 'Elan', 'Advance' and of course the mega-hit 'Timecode'. By the way, did you know he was also the man behind Whirlpool Productions' ultra-classic 'From: Disco To: Disco'? 'Clubscene Popscene' is definitely going that same way if you ask us... Essential!! http://www.hiem.net Feedback: Prins Thomas: really liking both, though justus adds a definitive pop flavour that's not in the original. great!!! Rob Mello: Diskopop version for me here. Really like the theme and ideas here. Tim Sweeny (DFA): Really enjoying the original mix of this. Thanks! DJ Morpheus: i like this hiem release and in particuler the justus k. remix... top marks!!! Cosmo: Really like the first cut. It's in my bag! Max Pask: 8/10! eskimo rules! Geoffroy Mugwump: killer original but the remix made this fly totally, a killer release that will stand the test of time, absolutely essential... 10/10 !!! Smos and Baby Bee aka Elastix: Love the diversity on Eskimo. Again another slammer for the box. We will play the Justus mix alot. Fred Nasen (Dogtown/Visitor): this is a timeless record , especially Justus' remix ... best eskimo so far ... 9/10 Reviews: Groove Magazine Review: Die ‚Zombie Partyš auf Crosstown Rebels steckt uns noch allen in den Knochen. Lovely. Rough Trade Review: Fresh and colourful on eskimo comes this disco flavoured biscuit from those wonderful hiem guys. the original runs along on a crisp and nagging melody with it's strong drums and funky bass. flip it for an even more disco take from the one and only justus kohncke. essential. Picadilly Records Review: Sheffields Hiem may have struck Crosstown Rebels Gold with some AAA remixes, but they cant shake the electro pop allure of their home ,Here on Eskimo "Clubscene Popscene"is a fantastic retro hi- tech track with viocoderes vocals and high end synths ,Justus Kohncke knows his 80s synth pop and sets about reconstructing the track with affection .
